Hard to believe that we are only a few short weeks into winter with all of the plan shuffling that the weather has been causing. If the last several weeks are any indication of the amount of contingency planning that will be required this winter, we will be kept extraordinarily busy! The Philadelphia area looks to be spared this week, but our neighbors to the south are being slammed with what is being called a "once-in-a-generation" snow and ice storm starting today.
Event Contingency Plans
We spent some time in Miami Beach last month, planning for an upcoming client event. It’s Miami Beach, so of course, some of our functions will take advantage of beautiful outdoor spaces. But as beautiful and lovely as those outdoor spaces are, they bring a whole host of new challenges that need to be handled during the planning process.
The last few weeks in Philadelphia have brought Hurricane Sandy, an early season nor'easter, and 3,000 new Philadelphia Marathon runners who were displaced from the New York City Marathon. All of this means that the last few weeks at Perfection Events have been spent on executing on our contigency plans.
The late season Hurricane Sandy could impact the mid-Atlantic area next week, and that has us dusting off emergency and contingency plans to prepare for the possible impact on client events.
